Fall 2021 I-O Talks:
1. Why DEI trainings aren’t enough

o Description: DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion) trainings strongly enhance people’s knowledge about diversity issues (e.g., unconscious bias), but alone do these trainings influence change? In this "I-O Talk", Rebecca Harmata and Lorena Solis, two Brooklyn College alumni and current I-O psychology doctoral students, will discuss the evidence around DEI trainings as well as highlight evidence-based strategies for effective and sustained change.
2. Becoming an Evidence-Based Practitioner

o Description: In this "I-O Talk", Michael Vodianoi, Research Scientist at MHS Assessments and strategic advisor for ScienceForWork, discusses what it means to be an “evidence-based practitioner” and how this differs from common approaches to decision making in higher education (e.g., best practices).
